Growing up in a dysfunctional family, one girl tries to find her own way of dealing with the world around her.
Violet and her older brother William have always been very close, she has always loved him and been equally terrified by him. Recently things have changed, William has found out the truth about his past and has withdrawn further and further away room his parents and even Violet herself. She still escapes into the pages of her favourite author, Casper Dream, who writes about fairies. When a new girl arrives at school she makes a bee-line for Victoria and they become close friends, but is it really Victoria that Jasmine is interested in, or has she set her sights somewhere else?
As with all of her books, this is easily read by a competent reader.
This seems at first read to be a very different story from her usual books, but as you get into it and think about what is happening you realise it is still about the world of growing children. The whole concept of a dysfunctional family who are pulling further and further apart is all too common in our lives today. As always Wilson comes up with some answers and possible ways forward, but nothing is definite and the endings are happy for the present. I have always admired that in her writing and think that is what makes her so very popular with her readers. Well worth a read over the dark winter nights.

i think from reading that paragraph it is very exciting
I really like this book because it was kind of a cliff hanger, and the ending is very different to what you would of thought at the beginning!
Other readers will like it as well because its a great story and it keeps you interested.
I really like the book, Violet loves Casper Dream, and has his made up fairies hanging from her bedroom ceiling. Life is changing for Violet, her brother, Will, doesn"t speak no more, all because he found out the secret Violets parents had been hiding fro More...
