Mrs Mad's humble opinion
9/10 Very good. I am pleased with this.
What's it about?
Guardian Angels do exist, even if you don't believe in them!
What happens?
Seb's life is on a downward spiral, the bank are on at him, his girlfriend has dumped him and he has a mad drug dealer on his case. What a day. But it is about to get far worse, Seb bunks off college and heads up West. Here a sequence of events unfold that are so bad that Seb nearly dies, but he is saved by someone. The odd thing is, that someone seems to be angel! How do you thank an angel and worse how do go about finding them in the first place!
Is it easy to read?
Suitable for older teenage readers.
Anything else?
I asked for a review copy of this book because I was fascinated by the front cover, I was blown away by the story inside. It is an absolutely brilliant read, everything is well thought through and described to perfection. The awful mess one teenage lad is making of his life, whilst not really doing anything is spine chilling, then the events of the fateful day just seem to spiral out of control and as the reader you are gripped by the awful situations placed before you. However throughout the book you do feel something for Seb, a desperate desire for him to make everything okay and get back on track. And as his quest to find Jay Brill becomes tangled up with his art project you see a better person emerging from the debris of his shattered life Wonderful!
Who says so?
This review by Mrs Mad.
The publisher reckons...
It just takes one day for Seb's life to fall apart. He is in trouble with school for non-attendance, in trouble with his mother for far too many things to mention, and he has just been dumped by his girlfriend. So instead of trying to sort out any of these troubles Seb takes off for the day, to central London, where things soon start to unravel. Seb awakes a few days later in a hospital bed, lucky to be alive after having got into a fight, and having been saved by an unknown character. But who is that person, and why did he step in to save Seb? Soon Seb is convinced that he has a guardian angel and he is determined to find out who he is. But searching for a guardian angel is no easy task! Vivid and atmospheric, this is a novel for all young adults who want to read books with bite.
