Mrs Mad's Mum's humble opinion
9/10 Very good. I am pleased with this.
What's it about?
Cursed to sail the seas forever with the Flying Dutchman!
What happens?
The Flying Dutchman was cursed to sail the seas forever, because he blasphemed against God. A boy and his dog were also on board ship and were cursed as well - this story tells their tale, forever putting things right but never being able to stay in one place.
Is it easy to read?
Quite easy to read and large clear text, should make this a good read for independent readers.
Anything else?
This was a fascinating read. I found it hard to put down. The legends of the Flying Dutchman have always intrigued me and this makes the story go into new areas. I really enjoyed this book!
Other books by Brian Jacques include Lord Brocktree, Marlfox, Martin the Warrior, Mossflower, The Angel's Command, The Legend of Luke, The Tribes of Redwall.

A young boy and his dog stow away on board the Flying Dutchman, a ship bound for South America, in 1620. The pair are thrown overboard as the ship rounds Cape Horn, but are saved by an angel. From then on the two are fated to travel the world, through time to help people in trouble.
