7/10 This is quite a good piece of work.
What's it about?
Outlandish and highly inventive versions of familiar fairy stories.
What happens?
The author has taken well known fairy tales and twisted them to produce funny, ridiculous and sometimes just down right daft, stories!
Is it easy to read?
A good book to share with a young reader. I think a knowledge of the original tales does make this more funny. Great to use in school as a start to writing stories for a particular audience or changing the direction of stories.
Anything else?
Hardback. From the same author/illustrator pairing as Squids will be Squids. Children love traditional stories and here they get the chance to take the mickey out of a few of them.
