Mrs Mad's humble opinion
9/10 Very good. I am pleased with this.
What happens?
Nat Field is a young American actor in England to perform at the newly rebuilt Globe Theatre. But he wakes up one morning to find himself in 1599 acting at the original theatre with Shakespeare himself!
Is it easy to read?
This is a good read for the independent reader. It would also be good to read to a class studying Shakespeare or the Elizabethans.
Anything else?
This is a brilliant piece of writing, the mystery of time travel the fascination of the world of Shakespeare and a modern day drama. Susan Cooper is a wonderful writer and has produced a thrilling book for her readers. Recommended by Quentin Blake.
Other books by Susan Cooper include Little Monster Did It!, Over Sea, Under Stone, The Baby Who Wouldn't go to Bed, The Bear under the Stairs, The Dark is Rising.
Who says so?

The publisher reckons...
Nat is a young actor who has travelled from America to rehearse and perform as Puck in "A Midsummer Night's Dream". As the rehearsals intensify, Nat's health begins to fail and soon the rest of the cast are horrified to hear that he has been rushed to hospital, suffering from the Bubonic Plague.
And what do you think?
King of Shadows is an exceptional work by Susan Cooper, bestselling author of The Dark is Rising, Over Sea, Under Stone, Silver on the Tree and many other magical and atmospheric books, and will not disappoint those who already wallow in the author's star

I thought this book was great although the front cover looks a bit creepy. It is quite sad, I started crying. I don't recomend this to young children.

this book is strongly not suggested to ANYONE IN THE WORLD not even donkeys.

I think that this book like all her rest is really good and worth reading. The ending is touching and it is one of the best books i have ever read.
